Dive longer! Dive Deeper! And Dive more! Avid scuba divers take teh enriched air nitrox diver course because its benefits. If you go scuba diving a lot and don’t like the exhausted feeling you get after doing two dives, the nitrox course is good for you. The higher percentages of oxygen in your air mix leave you feeling good and sometime even feeling rejuvenated after a dive. The Enriched Air Nitrox Diver certification is your first step in the direction of technical diving.
The goal of the Enriched Air Nitrox course is to teach students about the positive and negative effects of O2 on the body. Your instructor will teach you how to choose the correct proper blend of air / nitrox for specific dive profiles, how to analyze your oxygen percentage, how to determine your maximum depth limit according to your specific nitrox mix, and how to set your dive computer for your nitrox dive profile.
THE FUN PART?
Becoming a Nitrox diver can be fun. Especially if you don’t know anything about partial pressures. The most exciting part of this course is learning about the effects of nitrox, why it is used in scuba diving, how to calculate nitrox mix PPOs, and if you have the chance, diving with nitrox.
WHO CAN TAKE THIS COURSE?
Just about anybody who is certified as an Open Water Scuba Diver or Junior Open Water Scuba Diver can take this course. The requirements for admission in the Nitrox Diver Specialty course is a follows:
• Be a certified Open Water Scuba Diver
• Be at least 15 years old with a parent’s signature **A junior certification is offered to children 10 – 14 years of age**
• Submit a Nitrox Diver Specialty Course Training Application
• Submit a Medical History Form, Assumption of Liability Release Agreement form, Rental Gear Agreement form, and
• Pay all required fees upfront
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
The class takes about 2 two hours. Enrollees in the Enriched Air Nitrox course are expected to have all the course reading and Knowledge Reviews (if there are any) done prior to coming class. A scuba instructor will go over the various sections of the textbook with the students, and then proctor an final exam. Although scuba diving with use of nitrox is not required for certification, it is highly recommended that students get this hands on training before diving with nitrox themselves. Diving with nitrox adds on about 4 hours to class because this is the typical duration of a dive tour.

Tuition for this course does not include course materials, nitrox fills or the boat dive tour. We will do supply rental gear at no additional cost if students choose to dive on nitrox.
